About Us

Who we are?

There has been a YMCA in Torbay for over 100 years. Originally in Torquay near the library, then in palace Avenue, Paignton, we are currently situated in Dartmouth Road, Paignton and have been there since 1969, when our building was open by HRH Queen Mother.

What do we offer?

We run an Alternative Provision for children and young people struggling in mainstream school, offering social and emotional support to enable them to access education again.

We run a Nightstop project, providing safe places to sleep for young people in times of need.

An OFSTED registered Nursery, with lots of additional services including use of our outside woodland area, gardens, basketball court, trips to the beach, library etc and use of our indoor sports hall and soft play equipment.

Wriggles & Giggles toddler group, Buddy Base Wellbeing youth group and much more.

What can young people expect?

We work hard to ensure we meet the needs of all the children and young people we support, to enable them to reach their goals and realise their potential.
